I wish I could tell you that finding a great coach is as easy as finding your next fishing lure or Harley accessory. But I can’t, so I wont!

Be Warned – Tough Love Today!

If you know me or you’ve been reading the WUPA for a while, then you know that I’m known for working on the right end of problems. Now, that may not seem revolutionary to you, until you wake up and discover that most of the world is working on the effects or wrong end of problems. By most I mean churches, schools, governments, employers, parents, men, women, YOU!

So in that spirit, I want you to ask yourself a couple of serious questions, aimed at focusing on the right end of whatever opportunity, issue or problem you are facing.

Before we move on, here is a heavy dose of truth. I don’t care who you are – -everyone needs help getting past themselves, so that they can emerge as everything that God created them to be.

Only foolish and ignorant men deny their God by being less than what he created them to be. (sobbing, tears)

1. What is it that you really want? Most men cannot answer this question because they are focused on what they don’t want, instead of what they do. I hear things like…

• I want to lose 30 pounds
• I don’t understand why I can’t hear from God
• I want my wife to quit talking down to me
• I don’t want to lose market share to….
• I want my kids to listen to me
• I can’t do this or I can’t do that
• I don’t want my competition to find out about….

The problem with this kind of thinking is that it focuses your God given energy on the effect instead of on the cause.

Losing 30 pounds should never be a goal, because we are not wired to lose. Saying I want to be whatever 30 pounds lighter would make me is a sustainable goal. Now your entire being will support you in finding ways to weigh whatever weight you determined. In most cases, it is a simple mathematical formula. Eat what you want to weigh (if you are 6′ and want to weigh 195 then eat 1,950 calories or less and move a lot, as in move your weight and 20 times your weight 4 to 5 times a week.)

The problem is not with your wife. If she is talking down to you, it is because you’ve given up your authority and she has stepped into your role. When men assume 100% responsibility and fulfill their role properly, their wife and family cannot help but support them

Kids not listening is never the problem, the problem is you. When you get out of the way and truly listen to understand your kids, then maybe they’d be interested in something that you have to say.

There is no competition and if that is your thinking then you are in for a life of struggle and pain. God did not create you to compete. You cannot find compete in the bible. God created you to create. When you learn how to create the most excellent product or service on the planet, people will swarm to buy from you and it wont matter what anyone else is doing.

2. Do you want what you want as badly as you want your next breath of air? Most men are big sissies who whine and make excuses, instead of accepting responsibility, I hear things like….

• I have to consult with my wife and pray about it and sleep on it and then I will let you know. (manure)
• I want it, but I’m not sure I can make a commitment, because I don’t want to let anyone down. (manure)
• What is my plan B, in case plan A doesn’t pan out? (manure)
• There is no way I can afford a coach. (manure)

I could go on endlessly, but I wont.

Far to many men have become emasculated (fancy word that means sissified or stripped of power).

When they say, I have to consult with my wife, I know that’s just sissy speak for I’m afraid. I’m afraid of what I might have to let go of or what I might have to do. (tears and sobs)

When they say, they don’t want to make a commitment, I know that’s sissy speak for I don’t want to have to work for what I want, I just want to be spoon fed and coddled. (tears and sobs)

When they say, where is plan B, I know that is sissy talk for they don’t really want what they want, and they think they can fool me…. yeah right! You ain’t fooling me and you certainly ain’t fooling God, you’re just fooling yourself.

When they say, I can’t afford to hire a coach, that is the lamest excuse of all. What it really means is, I don’t believe in myself and I don’t believe in God. Money is never the problem, the problem is always belief. If you believed, heaven and earth would not stop you from getting Free.

So finding a great coach is more about you deciding that you want what you want as badly as you want your next breath and the moment you reach that conclusion, nothing will stop you and the perfect coach will be easy to find, because he will have the same attitude that you have.

There is one caveat. There is no such thing as a good coach who simply tells you the answer to all of your questions. The greatest coach of all time, Jesus, seldom gave answers, what he had was great questions for it is great questions that help men discover who they really are.

I challenge you to seize your manhood, to seize being the Powerful Man through Christ that God created you to be.

Don’t blame me – I told you it was going to be tough love today. God is looking and calling mighty men of valor, of courage, of truth to assemble and Be the Body of Christ that he called them to be.
