The evidence clearly shows that making and spending quiet time with God is not a high priority for most men.
Most when asked why, can’t pin point the exact reason or reasons, but they will say things like – I fall asleep or I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do or I tried it, but didn’t get anything out of it and then there are some who have had experiences like mine.
I should start by saying, that for years God was not even on my radar screen. The only time I thought about him, was when I was in trouble or had some emotional pain, of course I’m probably the only guy on the planet that has had that problem.
God is benched and or on standby only for those troubling times when men can’t handle things on their own.
The thing that I could never reconcile, was that every time I made God my #1 priority, life seemed to get even more troublesome and painful. At times, it seemed as if I was being punished for my new found commitment and dedication. I don’t know about you, but if I think someone is going to bop me on the head every time I get near them, I’m gonna quit getting near them.
and if when I quit getting near, things seem to get better, it makes staying away that much easier….
I’ve since discovered that God was not punishing me.
I just had a head full of trash (un-right thoughts and beliefs) and emotional garbage (wounds and pains) that God wanted me to be free from and unfortunately his process can be painful and appear like punishment, especially if someone doesn’t help you understand what is happening.
Now, If you’ve read my previous posts, you know I’ve tried every short cut and go around imaginable and I’ve endured more than any man’s fair share of death, loss and pain along the way. Frankly, I finally got tired of the death, loss and pain and said enough is enough, I give up God, I’ve looked every where else for happiness and fulfillment and the only option I have left is you, because every other path I took led me to hell.
So, making quiet time with God your number 1 priority is easy, if you’ll just give up, give in and quit trying to make it on your own. I discovered the moment I did, that I became more powerful and gained more control than I’d ever had in my life.
I know it seems counter intuitive, but giving up and giving in, gives you true power and unlimited control. God’s power and God’s control!
P.S. When you choose to make God your number 1 priority, simply ask him…. how he’d like for you to spend it with him and if you honor your commitment until…. he’ll show you how and it will be the most rewarding, most fulfilling time of your life.
What’s keeping you from letting go, from giving up, from quitting? God says that the flesh, the ego, pride has no value, zilch, nadda, nope, not here on earth and certainly not in heaven.
Is the pain you’re in, worth the unfulfilled satisfaction you’re experiencing by trying to do it all on your own?
The world says you can’t do it, that you can’t give up control, that this is just how it is and if you’ll just work harder and double up your efforts you’ll succeed, you’ll find happiness.
Sorry, to disappoint but that is a load of manure.
The world, the flesh, the ego or control are pure anti-christ, anti-truth, anti-you and will cause you to continue creating distress, disease, despair, destruction and death in your life and the lives of everyone around you.
Stand up and be the man God created you to Be, because it is abundantly clear that Christ in you defeats anti-christ every time without fail.
